The King is back! The King is back! The king of fruits are back in season. While I was in Singapore, I bought durians sealed in styrofoam packs. They tasted so good and I was craving for durians again. I got to know that those durians in Singapore actually came from Malaysia..

Last week, after I’m back to Kuala Lumpur I went around looking for durians. I found a new durian stall near Bukit Angkasa flats in Pantai Dalam. The durian sellers told me that the durians were durian kampung (village durians) from Pahang in a place called.. i can’t make any sense of the name from the way the seller pronounced it.. but I know it is a place far far remote.. :P

For the first trial, I only bought 4 durians for RM10 (Malaysian RInggit). I went back home and opened the durians. The flesh inside were yellowish and tasted quite good. For durians which tastes this good, RM10 for 4 durians are really worth the money.

So for the next durian shopping, I bought durians for RM40. This time, it was a durian feast! I ate so much of durian during dinner time and I was so full that I can’t eat any other food. But this time, not all of the durians were as good as my first purchase. Half of them tasted quite ok and normal. The other half had yellowish flesh and tasted very good. Although the other half did not taste as good as the yellowish ones, they taste better than durians from some of the durian stalls I’ve tried last year.

You would probably have tried better durians than what I’ve bought this time. If you know of any place selling good tasting durians, please let me know. I’d love to try them.

Or if you would like to try the same durians I’ve tried this time, just head to Pantai area after Bangsar and turn into Bukit Angkasa flats area. At the T-junction you will see the stall as in the picture in this page.
