I came.. I saw.. I blogged..
Marche Restaurant at The Curve Damansara
Marche (pronounced ‘Mar-Shay’) Restaurant is located at The Curve shopping centre at Damansara. It is a fresh new concept of a market environment dining. In fact, Marche means marketplace in French.
Marche is a new concept of dining pioneered by Movenpick in Europe in 1983. It is a busy place with market activity and display of fresh foods. Colorful tiles, flagstone flooring, bright awnings, ceiling hangings, barrels, baskets and wagons create the ambience of a bustling European market.

This is how Marche Passport looks like.. there's 2 here
Before you enter into the restaurant, you will be greeted by 1 or 2 staffs at the entrance counter. They will give you a piece of paper which they call “Marche Passport” which you will use inside while shopping for food in the Mache marketplace. The staff will lead you to any available table and reserve it for you. Inside Marche, you will see a lot of stalls resembling an European market.

First thing is, walk around and have a look at all the food which are available there. Then when you are ready to order, go to that particular market stall and make an order. The staffs there will prepare your food fresh right in front of you. Once your food is ready, you pass your “Marche Passport” to the staff and they will stamp it. The stamped number might be food code.. I’m not too sure about that. You can keep doing your market shopping at many stalls and get your “Marche Passport” stamped. If you can’t carry all the food at one time, you can always leave them on your reserved table and then continue market shopping.

Once you have finished all your food shopping, you can settle down and enjoy your food in a very nice environment. You don’t have to worry about safety here, although it might look like you’re in an outdoor market, it is actually one huge restaurant which is closed while entry and exit is via the front doors with Marche staffs at the counter.

Outdoor market like environment plus comfort and safety
Like the many types of food stall inside Marche Restaurant, there are also many types of settings and environments for seating areas. There is one called La Potterie which resembles pottery making cottage. Another is called Bistro resembling Parisian tavern. Also Swiss House which resembles Swiss mountain Inn.

Since Marche is a market place, you can also buy back raw food and vegetables. I guess not many would do that as you could get raw food cheaper in Tesco supermarket which is a short walking distance away.
Once you have finished your meal, when you’re leaving, you’ll need to bring all your stamped “Marche Passports” to the counter and pay before you leave. That’s all for a marketplace dining!
