GMail New Drag and Drop Feature for Messages and Labels
Gmail has introduced a new drag and drop feature to enable Gmail users to manage and organize their emails better. Gmail does not use the folder concept to store and organize emails. Instead, Gmail uses Labels to organize emails.
There are 2 ways to organize your Gmail emails using Labels. You can choose to Move or Label your emails.
If you choose to Move the selected emails into a Label name, the emails will be moved out of Inbox and will appear inside the Label only.
If you choose to Label the selected emails using a Label name, the emails will be tagged with the Label and will still remain inside Inbox.
Originally in Gmail, you can select email messages and Move and Label by clicking the buttons above the email messages. Now with the new drag and drop feature, you can drag and drop email messages or labels.

If you drag and drop a Label onto email message, the message will be tagged with the Label name.
If you drag and drop email message onto a Label name, the message will be moved into the Label name.
It’s that simple.
