Last week, I logged in my WordPress blog, only to find a blank white page. I tried to refresh a few times and even tried in different internet browsers, but it did not solve the problem. Since I was quite busy that time, I decided to look at the problem at a later date.

Yesterday, I thought of posting a new article in my blog. So I logged in and saw the same blank white screen! So I searched for “wordpress admin is blank” in Google and found a list of websites and forums with various solutions.

One of the solution is to remove blank lines in WordPress .php files which sometimes happens after WordPress upgrade. I edited all the files and removed the blank lines at the end but this didn’t solve my problem.

I tried clearing browser cache, but that didn’t work for me.

Then, another website suggested to deactivate all the plugins. But I’m unable to do so as my whole Admin screen is blank! And the only way to deactivate WordPress plugins is to login via FTP and rename each plugin folders.

So I went on renaming each plugin folder one by one and refreshing the Admin screen to see if any particular plugin caused this problem. And guess what, one particular plugin called “WP Greet Box” is the culprit behind my blank white screen problem. I renamed the rest of the plugins to their original names and left “WP Greet Box” with a different name.

I even upgraded “WP Greet Box” to the latest version but the problem appeared again. So I had to disable this plugin by renaming the folder again. I guess I have to abandon this plugin for now.
